Since I have been sewing my own clothing and clothes for my family and friends my longing for great fabric has increased tremendously.

When I found Purpleseamstress I was blown away by the variety and quality that she offers.  She has so many different prints and solids in knit, swimsuit, french terry and sweater knit it is hard to pick just one, in fact, I often don’t just pick one.

I received this gorgeous cheetah print sweater knit to make something with for myself and see what I could do.  I was beyond blown away when it arrived at my door 2 days after being ordered.  The fabric was in a clear plastic bag inside of a priority mail box and it came in perfect condition.  I don’t think it was here 10 minutes before it was in my washer!

This medium weight gray and black sweater knit with a nice cheetah print on it.  The fabric was a breeze to cut and I had no problems at all as I laid it out for my pattern.  There was no curling or uneven sides, the cut of 2 yards was quite generous as well.

It has a gorgeous hand and drape and is suited perfectly for a sweater dress, a tank, a skirt, and even a cardigan which is what I decided to use it for.  I made the Love Notions Canyon Cardigan with this and it was  a match made in heaven.

Sewing the pieces on my regular sewing machine was easy, no catching and no pulling, it did not get stretched out or get caught up under my presser foot.  I did sew some of the seams on my serger and it was beautiful on it.  I loved that the results could be great on a sewing machine and a serger.

Melinda Dozal is the owner of Purpleseamstress Fabric.   Many years ago, she started out selling fabric on eBay as a hobby.  Eventually, she found her way onto Facebook, PayPal, and now a website.  Her business has taken off and I was able to retire from court reporting and do what I love to do – play with fabric!  I have to pinch myself everyday to make sure that it’s real. She is amazing at what she does and it shows that it is her passion!

One of the things that I love about Mel is her helpful hints in telling us what she has that coordinates and will match something, some of us (me included) have a difficult time choosing from online pictures.  She does it so very well!

You can check out Purpleseamstress fabric at her website, and on her Facebook page.  I think you will be more than pleased with all that she has to offer and her shop would be a perfect place to find your favorite seamstress some fabric for a holiday gift!
