As moms, we are responsible for what our kids and families eat and for that matter don’t eat. We need to make sure that even when picky kids refuse to eat everything that we offer them, that they are still getting everything they need to grow and thrive.
My granddaughter Destini loves pasta, she really loves all forms and shapes of pasta, however she is not a fan of too many sauces. At 5 years old we all think about what is best for her to eat and how she needs a balanced diet, and with Barilla ProteinPLUS Pasta we know she is eating well and getting her favorite!
I often make a pasta dish for dinner as we have a large family and it is easy, fast, and hearty. It is one food that everyone in our family agrees on and I always buy Barilla Pasta, especially the Barilla ProteinPLUS Pasta. We love to make bruschetta with Wasa Crisp Bread to go with our pasta dishes. Anytime we can boost our protein intake we are happy.
Barilla ProteinPLUS Pasta is a good source of lean protein from a simple blend of egg whites, grains, lentils, and chickpeas. It is your favorite pasta flavor and texture with an all natural vegetarian boost of 17 grams of protein per 3.5 ounce portion.
I love that it is also a good source of fiber and ALA Omega-3. When Destini wants her pasta plain and we don’t get the opportunity to add vegetables or protein sources to the pasta topping we don’t sweat it, we know she is eating well and getting the protein that she needs directly from her pasta!
As I was researching all the dried pasta options, I was excited to learn that Parent’s Magazine, named Barilla Gluten Free Pasta as one of their “Top 25 Allergy Free Foods” you can read that article in its entirety here: Parent’s Magazine.
Kids are strange at times, sometimes they get stuck on a certain food for a while and we have to learn to work around what they will and wont eat. I am so grateful that with Barilla ProteinPLUS Pasta, some fruit and cheese, Destini is getting all she needs for her body.
