Tales From A Southern Mom had the pleasure of working with KidsBasix on the review of their kids products. The KidsBasix line of bottles, Sippy cups and sports bottles are cutting edge. They give you all of the advantages of glass without the worry of it breaking. I chose to review the Safe Starter bottle and the Safe Sippy 2.
The stainless steel interior ensures that you will have NO leaching of chemicals from the container and that it is safe for newborns all the way to adults. In the past we had the choice or plastics or glass for bottles and Sippy cups, one you worried about BPA’s and other chemicals and the other you were worried about the drop factor and having shards of glass around small children. The outer of both products is a silicone sleeve that remains a constant temperature to prevent cold feelings or hot on the outside.
The Safe Sippy 2 was great for our 2 yr old that uses one all day long with water; she is a slow drinker so it was nice to not have to worry about anything coming out of the plastic and getting into her water throughout the day. She seemed to enjoy the nice carry handles and the drinking straw inside made it easy for her to get a drink without too much and choking; this has been a problem with other Sippy cups.
The bottle had all the same properties but with a great nipple that was very soft and very much like other wide nipple bottles, so it was taken with ease. The Safe Starter bottle also includes a sealing disc for travel. It came with a travel lid to keep the nipple clean, which can be used to measure as well as it has marking on it for measuring up to 2 ounces. The only thing I did not like about the bottle was not being able to see readily how much the baby had consumed, but for an older baby that drinks a whole bottle at a time this would work great. I really liked that under hot tap water your bottle was warm in about 20 seconds, because of the stainless steel it warms really quickly, that comes in handy when you need a bottle quick. If you have a crying hungry baby this is very handy.
Overall I think these bottles are fantastic, and I am so excited to have them, I am going to be getting the Safe Sporter bottle too for my husband to have at work. I really like these bottles, and I think you will probably too.
