I recently was fortunate enough to try the popcorn from Gaslamp Popcorn. I was so excited that they had a great caramel popcorn that was spiced with cinnamon. I love popcorn and flavored popcorn is a weakness of mine.
The popcorn itself was of exceptional quality there was not a missed kernel and all of it was fluffy and in large pieces, it was not smashed into small particles, and with bagged popcorn that is already popped that seems to be a major issue. With this being shipped to me I expected it to be more smashed rather than less.
The caramel was not too sweet, nor was it sticky. When you have caramel popcorn it is easy to get it too sticky and over coated. You then end up with a large popcorn ball rather than a snack that is easy to eat. Everyone in my house got to try some and we all agreed that it was pretty good. We really liked that it tasted more like a caramel apple with the addition of cinnamon. Made it feel very fall like.
I liked the pure taste of the caramel and how it did not taste like additives to the popcorn but more like they were meant to be together and not separated. It is difficult at times to get the right balance of popcorn saltiness and the caramel sweetness together all in one bite, a true sign of a gourmet popcorn. Gaslamp Popcorn handles this all very well. When they add the hint of cinnamon, it really heightens the flavor and brings it to a complete wonderful package.
This is a product that will not disappoint I cannot wait to try the other flavors that they offer.
