Music is a universal language. Disney has always known that by using music they are able to connect to most cultures and ages.
The Little Mermaid Movie had some of the most well-known music with it and even today you can hear people singing, “Under the Sea”. The tunes are catchy and the words are simple to learn, however they don’t start that way.
With this bound Legacy Collection of The Little Mermaid you get to experience all of the working of the music from its inception until the final releases and what you heard in the movie. The musical score is phenomenal and lets you get a real feel for what was going on in the songwriters minds eye as the music took shape.
My family loved the music, not only for the quality but, to hear how it evolved over the time of the CD was quite an interesting thing to hear. I know that for me, I remember the music from the movie being a major player at the time. I love the song “part of your world” and I think it played on the radio pop stations about as often as other music of the time. It was of great interest to hear how the song developed over the period that you hear it The first time ou hear the song you know it and then when you hear the reprise it is more familiar still and you are able to get the feel of the movie a little more.
If you are a music lover you are going to love this CD, and if you are a Little Mermaid Lover you are going to love this CD, if you are a music student and love the study of how the whole musical soundtrack comes together, then you are going to love this too!
