Family Christian sent me a fabulous DVD called What’s In the Bible and it was #4 in a series! I have a confession to make about this DVD, I think I liked it just as much if not more than my pre-schooler!
it was so interesting to learn so much about the bible that I did not know even after years of going to church. The characters were great puppets that instantly draw you in to the story.
Volume 4 is all about the books, Joshua, Ruth, and Judges and even though most adults have a difficult time with these books of the bible as they are very historical in nature, they were presented in the best way for this series.
What’s In The Bible brilliantly showed maps, and made up songs and explained even the hard parts of it like the death of people in a great and simple way that kids and adults can understand without feeling like they were in over their heads. I absolutely loved this.
I was impressed in my pre-schoolers reaction as well, we did part one and then I asked her what she thought and her response was simply “God Loves Us”! I am over the moon with that take away. For a three-year old to learn that God loves us no matter what after simply watching one part of this series almost brought tears to my eyes.
I enjoyed the encounters that the characters had together and the detail they gave about where things happened and even what people may have been thinking during the stories that were told.
What’s In The Bible is an important tool for parents that are wanting to send a message to their kids that the Bible is so important, that we need to not only read it but we need to watch things about it and hear different stories about it and learn from it, in any way we can.
Kids get enough bad lessons from screen time and this is one of those things that you can feel good about them watching and wondering about, the really good news is you will not be bored or get tired of watching it either. I learned something new every time. They are on our list of things to buy now, we need to have the whole What’s In The Bible series as soon as we can. She just loved them and so did we.
