Around our house we have a little problem with any body who happens to do the laundry besides myself. You probably have the exact same problem and that is people always use too much or too little detergent for the load they are doing. I have even gone so far as to mark the measuring cup and to only putting the soap in myself. Nothing really stops them from doing it, and it is expensive and not good for our clothing or environment to use too much or too little laundry detergent.
You can imagine my excitement when Purex sent me their next best laundry detergent, not only does it have the best detergent inside, but with the new bottle it is foolproof to use the right amount. You simply turn the whole bottle over and it fills to just the right amount on the dosing cup and then pour it into you laundry, replace the cap and you are done. Brilliant! The Purex PowerShot is made to solve this problem.
Directions for Use
First Use Only: FLIP bottle with lid closed to ensure a full first dose. Bottle should be completely upside down to fill the Purex® PowerShot™ engine inside. RETURN bottle upright.
- OPEN the lid while pointing away from face.
- FLIP bottle completely upside down to pour Purex® PowerShot™ directly into the washing machine or dispensing tray. One super-concentrated PowerShot equals one regular load.
- The Purex® PowerShot™ engine automatically REFILLS, so it’s ready for the next load.
For best results: Use one dose for regular loads, and two doses for large or heavily soiled loads.
I love especially that the PowerShot bottle is clear and that you can see when you have it in the cap and how much is in there, and if you need more for an especially large load or a load that is heavily soiled you simply replace the cap and turn it again for a double dose.
I have to admit I was skeptical that it would deliver enough detergent and not spill everywhere but I really was pleasantly surprised that it worked perfectly. The lid did not get messy and the top of the bottle stayed relatively slime free from soap leaking out.
I used to love the little pre measured packets that you could buy Purex in and those I used for our cloth diaper laundry, because if anyone happened to put those in to wash it was very important to not put too much soap in. I then started reading, probably like you have about children eating them and mistaking them for candy.
This Purex PowerShot solves all of that! You simply flip, add and done, perfect laundry! I am having a flash giveaway and anyone that comments on this post will be entered to win 3 coupons for a free bottle! That is three free bottles of Purex PowerShot laundry detergent. So, go ahead, tell me why you think this is a great idea and why you want to try it! Winner will be drawn on Sunday February 22, 2014

February 20, 2015 at 5:25 pmThere is no telling how much money we waste bu over-pouring detergent. I am not sure how scientific the new spout is, but at least the measurement would be the same every time. This could potentially be a big money saving switch.

February 19, 2015 at 2:23 pmIt is good because I have a bad habit of just dumping a bunch of soap in the washer. This would save me a lot of money

February 19, 2015 at 2:05 pmI love Purex and would really be interested in the controlled measuring. We do 3 or 4 loads a week but, somehow, my roomie used a 100 use bottle in 2 months!
