I cannot tell you how much I love my L45 Venta Airwasher! This has made me able to sleep at night without taking allergy medicine for the first time in years. I was so excited when they contacted me to review this product as I have horrible allergies and Destini also has asthma, we have both had fewer problems this spring/summer than ever before.
I was skeptical as to why we needed one of these and if they were just a gimmick but, I am here to tell you this works. I live in So. Cal and we have desert like weather often and we also have smog, and traffic pollution as well as the normal things of dog dander, and regular indoor pollution. This has prevented any of those issues from bothering us since we plugged it in and filled it up.
We run our air conditioner a lot, probably way more than we really need, but it is the only filtering that our air gets, with living on a busy street and the traffic we need some filtration. Running the air conditioner is very drying and sometimes it gets very dry in the bedrooms, to where it is uncomfortable to sleep.
When we got the Venta Airwasher, we filled it up and plugged it in and I slept better that night than I had in years. I was pretty blown away. We got the L45 which is probably a little too big for us, but it helps all three of our back bedrooms at the same time.
I did not know that having moister humidified air was important, and then when I started doing some research I was pretty amazed at the problems it can cause. dry air can lead to dry skin, irritated sinuses and throat, and itchy eyes, one study found that flu viruses survive longer and spread more easily when humidity levels are low. Nasal congestion may also be related to the temperature and humidity of inhaled air — perhaps more than any other variable, according to one study. I had no idea.
Because this cleans the air while it adds humidity to the air, so you are getting all that you need from one product.
A heated 30 sq. ft. room needs approximately 5 liters of water per day to have the medically recommended humidity level.
