When you have a baby, it is the most precious and priceless thing you will ever transport in your car. You want the best! Diono Radian is one of the best car seats you can buy.
One of the first things that drew me to Diono was their 50 International Awards from industry and consumer groups for safety and thoughtful design for car seats, travel and stroller accessories. That’s s a lot of awards for a single company, and I knew if they were getting that many awards they were doing something right. Below you will find the key features of this car seat. I was so excited when it got here, I don’t think I even remembered these.
- Full steel frame and aluminum reinforced sides for unmatched safety
- Comfortably seats rear-facing children from 5-45 lbs, forward-facing children from 20 – 80 lbs in a 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 120 lbs.
- Unique SuperLATCH system that makes installation easy
- It also fits 3 across in most mid-size vehicles, folds flat for travel and is FAA certified
- Booster mode from 50 – 120 lbs (40 to 57 inches)
- NCAP crash tested, the industry benchmark for verifying child seat performance in severe accident conditions
The reality is that people get in car accidents and kids are going with their parents more than ever now and that will lead to more kids being in car accidents, I think that buying a car seat is one of the most important purchases you will make for your baby. At Diono they have convertible car seats that turn into boosters and they have booster seats alone.
One of the most noticeable things to me when we got it was the weight, this is a steel-framed car seat, and you can tell that it would take a lot of force for this to be moved very far, I was nervous about how heavy it was at first and how it was going to be to install but honestly it is so simple. If you have latch connectors in your car you simply push a button fasten the straps on, tighten it down and you are good to go, the car seat is not going to be going anywhere.
It has a cup holder for when your child is riding all day and sippy cups fit great in it. The straps are easy to adjust, and the buckles move pretty well. I love that the chest clip is wide and the straps come with pads on them so you don’t have to take a chance buying aftermarket covers that may cause a problem. I know that David is more comfortable in it that his infant seat as he doesn’t fuss or fidget at all, he is just 12 months so still rear facing, the Diono reclines easily and at an angle that is easy on him to relax in. We can put both kids on one seat with this seat, although Destini’s is a bit wider, with the Radian being so narrow it makes it very simple.
If you are researching car seats the Diono car seats need to be on your short list, you can find them at retailers all over the world and if you go to their website here they will help you find a store to purchase them.
