As the daughter of a veteran and the ex-wife of a career Marine, supporting our veterans is something I am extremely passionate about. The men and women of our Armed Forces who so tirelessly defend our nation, our freedoms, our liberty each and every day, putting their lives on the line for every one of us, deserve nothing less.
“Faith of Our Fathers” is another amazing movie from Pure Flix, and one that truly touched my heart. I laughed, I cried, and the movie was engaging and interesting throughout. My eldest son and I watched it together, and even he enjoyed it and laughed along with me at the mishaps John Paul and Wayne find themselves.
John Paul and Wayne are two young men in search of their fathers. The only problem is … their fathers have been dead for 25 years. Eddie and Steven are two young men in search of their sons … whom they have never met. In 1969, Eddie and Steven are with their squad deep in the jungle of Vietnam on a five-day mission to retrieve fallen comrades. They write letters to their wives, often mentioning their love of their sons, one, who is an infant and one yet to be born.
In 1994, John Paul shows up at Wayne’s house and the two embark on an unforgettable journey of grace to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. to find their fathers’ names. Along the way, guided by the letters that their fathers wrote to them over a quarter century ago, they begin to get an understanding of who their fathers were and how they died. Trials and mishaps (both funny and sad) complicate the road trip for the boys. The horrors of war and the testing of faith manifest themselves for the young men in Vietnam, and John Paul and Wayne learn that not even the devastation of war can break the bond or the love of a father for his son.
