There is nothing that I like better than a toy that gets kids moving and active doing something. OK, there is one thing and that is a toy that can get parents and kids working together on something.

These My Fairy Garden toys make excellent beginner garden kits for kids and they are perfect for parents to teach kids about how to grow a garden!

I love that this allows kids to meld two worlds together, they are able to play with the fantasy world of fairies and grow a real garden.  The set includes everything that you need to get going a pot, a tray, toadstool, soil, seed packet, a watering can, four gardening tools, Freya the fairy figure, a flying cord so the fairy attaches, a chipmunk, and fairy-sized cottage furniture.  It is a complete set and does not even need batteries!2016-06-23-1466699363-6814668-MyFairyGarden

In order for the kids to start a garden. you mix the soil inside a bowl or pot with water and soften it up.  Once the soil is damp you break it up with the rake and simply scatter the seeds evenly on the soil and then press them down.

Then you are set to play with the fairy and watch your soil to make sure it does not dry out, water it daily and keep it near some sun.  The excitement is just beginning when in a few days to a week they can start to see sprouts and  get full flowers by about six weeks.

Patch-Products-My-Fairy-Garden&153I think that it is amazing that this My Fairy Garden set is a perfect blend of growing a garden and playing with the fairy that lives inside the pot that you are gardening in.  A brilliant way to keep kids entertained and interested in the long process of waiting for the seed to grow.

One of the things that also impressed me with the My Fairy Garden set was the information that comes with it explaining the process of how plants grow.Learning while playing is key!

Check out the website here and follow along with their social media to see the gardens grow, don’t forget to show your kids what other kids have done with their My Fairy Garden.

I cannot wait for the weather to get a little warmer, which for us here in Southern California will be pretty soon so we can start on our My Fairy Garden here! I love this as a holiday gift.  It can be set aside and when all of the other gifts are done and the excitement has calmed this is the perfect thing to bring in the spring!
