Soooo, have you ever been on Facebook and you are scrolling through and you see that a pattern designer that you love is looking for testers for a new pattern? My heart skipped a beat when I saw that Bella Sunshine Designs was looking for testers for their newest pattern called Amelia.

Nice huh?

I love the way this dress fits me.  It is high enough with the empire-ish waistband and it is gathered enough at the skirt that every lump and bump does not show.  I need more of those kinds of patterns in my life.  I found the great border print fabric at Walmart for $1.50 a yard, and it was perfect for the Amelia pattern.

This back is so awesome! No feeling of it slipping

For the first time testing I found it pretty tedious and actually difficult at times. Overall I loved testing the pattern and I would love to do it again if the chance presents itself.  If you have not had a chance to test a pattern yet, I highly recommend it.  I learned a lot and working with other testers was really awesome.

The Amelia pattern is rated as a confident beginner.  You also need to use clear elastic, which is a new skill for me.

The entire bodice is lined in the sleeveless version. The sleeved version does not line the sleeves. Amelia has a full gathered skirt.  It is straight forward, and a skill builder if you are a beginner looking for a little big of a challenge.

Full Gathered Skirt is perfect!

I love the fit, and it is so incredibly comfortable, I made two complete dresses, and four bodices during the testing phase. I used the same fabric to line the bodice it made it a little confusing with all the pieces. Using a different lining fabric may help you.

Summer is coming fast and it is going to be one of those dresses that you can dress up or dress down depending on your fabric choices and accessories.  They also have a girls sized Amelia that you can get to do mommy and me dresses!

Check it out at Bella Sunshine Designs and now they are both on sale!  You can also join the BSD Facebook page to get ideas and help for when you sew their patterns.  You also will find a few sale codes as well in there.

Sewing Level: Confident Beginner
