The designer describes the pattern like this; Nilah is a stylish and modern design.  The dress features a fitted, fully lined bodice with the option of sleeveless, short, ¾”, or long sleeves.  The beautiful high-low curved hem adds just the perfect amount of detail to this dress. The front skirt hits just above the knee. The dress is perfect for all seasons. Paired it with boots or cardigan, either way your will love it on your little girl. The high-low hem gives it an additional wow factor!

I have to say that I would whole heartily agree with this! This dress is so cute and it really looks professionally made even with a little effort.

This is my beautiful Delilah in one I made her.  She is comfy and can walk and crawl in it without it getting in her way.  I look for those particular features in patterns that I use for her and being a tester for this dress I was thrilled it hit all of the wonderful points.

You can make the Nilah dress for sizes 6 months thru 12 and it is one of those perfect patterns for doing matching dresses for all of the girls.  This dress has 3/4 sleeves and the high low skirt on it, the bodice is completely lined which I love, it always makes the neckline look so smooth.

Sewing this up was very simple and the directions were straight forward and detailed.  :You could use just about any knit for this and even use color blocking like I did in hers.

I made her another one of these and only used my serger on it except for the hem, so if you are looking for a quickie, this has to be in your pattern library!

Here is your material list:

4-way stretch knit fabric with at least a 50% stretch but no more than 75% stretch. Recommended is a blend of at least 5% spandex/ lycra for good recovery. Avoid lightweight spandex/lycra and loose knits (they tend to stretch and sag and do not have a good recovery).

– If you are looking for more dramatic high/low effect, please choose thicker knit fabric for the skirt portion and stay away from thinner knit like rayon spandex.

– Clear elastic to stabilize the waistline (OPTIONAL).

– 3/8” strips of four-way stretch interfacing to stabilize the facing neckline (OPTIONAL).

If you are looking for a great dress that you can dress up or dress down this is the one! Fast to sew and great results what more could you ask for!
