Welcome to the Date Dress Sewalong!

In this sewalong, we’ll be going step by step through the process of sewing a Date Dress, from Made by Runi

The date dress is a great dress, that can be made in 5 different lengths as well as sleeveless or with short or long sleeves.  with a cowl neckline. The pattern includes 3 types of skirts, 2 maxi and a short half circle skirt with 5 different lengths. It even has pockets. Date dress pattern for adults in sizes 34-58 European sizes and 4-28 US sizes

If you’re new to working with knits, don’t worry. We’ll go over some easy techniques for working with knit fabrics both with and without a serger. The sewalong will focus on sewing with a knit with sleeves, however you can do this with no sleeves.

This is an amazing dress for the holidays and perfect for wearing with those cardi’s that you have been making.  Then come spring and summer you have a nice dress to start your warm weather wardrobe.

Of course the first steps is to buy your pattern and then head over to Simply By Ti and buy your fabric, you can use code ITSLOVE for a 5% discount. Patterns is available for 20% discount code is DATESAL

Our sewalongs are simple. We’ll publish a series of posts detailing each step in the process of fitting and sewing your pattern. You can sew along with us, ask questions, and share your techniques and advice with others.

Feel free to leave comments here on the blog, or join our Sewalongs Facebook group to post thoughts, questions, and photos. We try our best to answer as many questions as possible, but encourage you to jump in and help each other out as well.
