In this sewalong, we’ll be going step by step through the process of sewing a Date Dress, from Made by Runi
The date dress is a great dress, that can be made in 5 different lengths as well as sleeveless or with short or long sleeves. with a cowl neckline. The pattern includes 3 types of skirts, 2 maxi and a short half circle skirt with 5 different lengths. It even has pockets. Date dress pattern for adults in sizes 34-58 European sizes and 4-28 US sizes
If you’re new to working with knits, don’t worry. We’ll go over some easy techniques for working with knit fabrics both with and without a serger. The sewalong will focus on sewing with a knit with sleeves, however you can do this with no sleeves.
This is an amazing dress for the holidays and perfect for wearing with those cardi’s that you have been making. Then come spring and summer you have a nice dress to start your warm weather wardrobe.

Our sewalongs are simple. We’ll publish a series of posts detailing each step in the process of fitting and sewing your pattern. You can sew along with us, ask questions, and share your techniques and advice with others.

We’ll get started by going over what fabric and supplies you’ll need for your Date dress. You’ll have two weeks to get your shopping done before the actual sewing gets underway.
We will then get started with the sewing. We’ll work through the dress through the rest of that week, with the final sewing post being the following Monday.
Then you’ll have a week to get your dresses finished and we will highlight them in a parade post.
