Do you love to have a special drink or recipe that you use only at the holidays? I know for our family we love to have something that is special and different during the holiday season.
This year it was easy for us to make up a new cocktail with our favorite flavors of cranberry and orange. It is a classic combination that always feels festive and refreshing.
I thought of flavors that I enjoy together during meals and baking for the season and put them all together. We went to Sam’s Club and bought Simply Orange® Juice, some cranberries, cinnamon and cranberry juice. While there of course we bought some snacking nuts and Simply Lemonade® to try out a new holiday drink as well.
I love chocolate combined with orange
We put them together and it was missing a key flavor. I thought it needed a touch of sweetness, but was not sure what to add to it, finally it came to me and we added pure maple syrup! Perfection in a glass! Here is my recipe for HoHo Holiday Punch with Simply Beverages®.
HoHo Holiday Punch!
In a cocktail shaker mix together:
Simply Orange® Juice 1 oz
Cranberry Juice 1 oz
1 1/2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Maple Syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
Ice
Optional: Cranberries, Cinnamon stick, Orange slices, any and all can be used for garnish.
Shake over ice and pour over ice in a rocks glass garnish with an orange wheel a cinnamon stick and fresh cranberries
Easy Peasy and it is so amazing! Sweet but with enough tanginess to not feel overly sweet and of course it makes an amazing red color, the cranberry garnish really adds to that color!
My whole family loved this drink, but my husband is a huge lemon fan so we of course wanted to do something with the lemonade.
Mix in cocktail shaker
2 ounce Simply Lemonade®
Juice of 1/2 of fresh lime
1 ounce of Vodka
Ice
Fresh lime slices
Shake over ice and pour into a martini glass, add 1/2 ounce of grenadine syrup and garnish with lime slice
Yummy!
I only use Simply Orange Juice®, and Simply Lemonade® as I find they are so fresh and the next best thing to fresh-squeezed. Never sweetened, concentrated or frozen. I also love the carafe they come in as I feel glass protects the flavor so much better than a cardboard carton. These are pure fresh products that contain no GMO’s and that is important to me.
