They say that there’s nothing more rewarding than being a parent. However many moms say that the one thing they find difficult to adapt to after giving birth is how their bodies have changed. It’s now much more difficult to find clothing that flatters them; their old style is now no longer practical with little ones to look after, or it just simply doesn’t look good or make them feel confident anymore…and when you’re looking to adapt to your new body shape, it’s not easy to know where to start. Jeans, dresses, sunglasses – click here for the latest in cat eye sunglasses – what should stay and what should go?
Well, every mom is beautiful, but if you’re a parent and you’re looking for a little advice in the style department after the amazing and wonderful feat that is pregnancy and giving birth then here you’ll find a little inspiration that will hopefully give you a little more confidence. Enjoy!
Get out of your pjs
In the newborn stage, the PJ phase is completely acceptable and practical. Plus there’s nothing better than changing into a fresh set of pjs for bedtime. However once you’re past that it’s time to start rediscovering your wardrobe and putting together outfits for – the daytime.
Embrace how things have changed
Nothing changes a body more dramatically than growing a baby! But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to accept how your body looks now. Well, we all have parts of our bodies that we love so choose outfits that accentuate those areas and flaunt it. As for the parts you’re not yet friends with, don’t worry – choose clothing that skims past those parts. Remember, you’re just as beautiful as you were before.
Discover accessories
Accessories are now your new best friend! They’re the perfect way to completely transform any outfit! Even a plain white tee and some jeans can be instantly transformed with a statement necklace, some dangly earrings, wrist wear or even a beautiful scarf. Buy affordable accessories each season and then you can alternate them and create various different combos. By simply switching your accessories you can completely alter your look from day to day.
Try some prints and patterns
Block colours are staples of any wardrobe, but I personally find that prints and patterns are even better. They not only make a statement but they’re also great at hiding stains, sticky toddler handprints and those parts you missed with the iron. From florals to animal prints, spots and stripes even geometric prints there’s so much to choose from! Throwing on a floral maxi dress is the simplest thing in the world, but you’ll look a million dollars.
Get yourself plenty of staples
With sticky hands and potential stains around every corner, you need to have plenty in your wardrobe to back you up. Have plenty of good quality and well fitting t-shirts, box tops, jeans, shorts and skirts that make you feel good and of course plenty of practical shoes (in styles you like of course). Next time you go shopping, concentrate on adding to the staples of your wardrobe rather than one off pieces.
