When I think of the holidays I always think of my whole family being around a table enjoying cookies and candies and all of us playing games. This is the one memory that no matter what else is going on in the world it warms my heart. All of the adults just taking the time to be together.
When I was very young they played cards, but as I got older someone would scour the stores and buy a few new games to play. We are fortunate that now we just have to go to the ThinkFun website and check out the new games.
This year we found three great games from ThinkFun. Jaws is a great game for everyone because we all know the movie and lets face it sharks are cool. Thus is a strategy game that is straight out of the movie. The basic premise is where is the shark going to strike. You need to sink the Orca and eat all three crew members from the boat to win, that is if the shark wins. Now if the crew wins it is the goal to kill the shark.
This is played with one person being the shark and the rest of the players being crew members. Lots of fun and lots of suspense with this one. Adults in our family liked this game a lot.
We also wanted something a little different and since villains seem to be more our style Villainous 1 and 2 allows you to be a villain and take on your evil persona. You of course need to scheme and figure out how to get your plan to work. This is truly a game to allow your sinister side out. We love Disney and to be honest it is great to have a game that is not just about the fairy princesses side if things. One of the things that really impressed me with this game was the incredible art work.
Now I know these two games are a little off the beaten path and this fits our family. ThinkFun thought if everything and everyone when they offered their games.
ThinkFun has games for everyone at every age and have quite a few educational games available. I got the math dice game years ago and the kids love to play with them. It’s such a cool way for them to do math equations.
