Mastermind: The Game Code Cracking at its Finest

      Yum

Do you remember having board games on your Christmas wish list? I sure do.  I would go down the lists in the store catalogs or up and down the aisles in stores and find just the ones I wanted.  I loved playing games with my family and friends, and many family get togethers even the adults would play games as part of fun.  It was amazing.

Now that we are all stuck at home and trying to stay well and away from others, its great to have a selection of games to choose from to keep us all a little more entertained.

Recently I was sent a Mastermind Game, it had been years since I had seen one and my almost 9 year old grand daughter was quite excited about having a new game.

From Pressman:

“Test your code-cracking prowess with Mastermind, the challenging game of logic and deduction. The Codemaker sets a secret code, and the Codebreaker tries to match the code using logic, deduction, and maybe even a little bit of luck. After each move, the Codemaker gives clues to the Codebreaker. Make the code even more devious by using multiple pegs of the same color or by leaving one or more peg holes empty. With so many possible code combinations, every game is guaranteed to be a brainteaser!”

Sometimes I think you need more than a little luck, it can be as difficult or as easy as you make it.  If you are playing with younger kids you can also use simple patterns to help make the game a little more friendly for them.

I think this would make a great gift for kids who enjoy games and for kids who love to solve puzzles, it is also an amazing game for adults to play with kids.  I will warn you that you need to keep the smaller marbles away from the littles around the house as it is a choking hazard.

Destini and I had a good time playing and she also enjoyed playing with her dad.  The one thing that I have always loved about Mastermind is that it is simple to learn and simple to play, but still needs brain power to play well.  This game is great to teach STEM to kids and I love nothing more than kids learning through play.

While looking for boredom busters during the orders around the world, don’t over look the Mastermind game and other board games available, make every night a game night!
