      Yum

There’s no doubt about it—being a mom is wonderful. But, although your kiddos are the center of your universe, it’s important to prioritize your own health and well-being, too.

When you nurture your body and mind, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the challenges and stressors of everyday life. After all, the healthier you are, the better equipped you’ll be to raise your wonderful children. If you’re finding it difficult to prioritize your health amidst your busy schedule, then this guide is for you.

#1 Eat Nutritious and Balanced Meals
Eating pop tarts for breakfast? Having dinner on the go? It’s time to slow down. Your health often hinges upon what you feed your body. We’ve got good news—improving your nutrition doesn’t have to be a rigorous process.

All you need is a meal plan (trust us, the time you spend prepping healthy meals will pay serious dividends for your health). With a curated shopping list in hand, you’ll know what not to buy at the grocery store. Additionally, sometimes it’s all about making the time to cook healthy meals. While ordering pizza is a breeze (we get it), consider creating a meal schedule. Perhaps, for six nights out of the week, you’re eating veggies and healthy proteins. The seventh night, you’re splurging.

#2 Create a Beauty Routine
As a mom, it’s easy to forfeit self-care at the prioritization of being a parent. But guess what? Treating yourself is just as important for you as it is for them. So, here’s a question: when was the last time you had your skin pampered? When was the last time you invested in your own beauty routine?

Considering setting aside fifteen minutes each day to take care of your skin or nourish your hair.

At the end of the day, a beauty routine can be as simple or intricate as you wish. There’s no wrong methodology. The idea is to invest in yourself. Why? Because self-care creates confidence, relieves stress, and primes optimism.

Moisturize – Healthy, radiant, skin can be fostered with a gentle moisturizer. In which case, try finding an all-natural moisturizer for vibrant skin.

Enhance – All you need is a flick of mascara or a bold lip to add some sophistication and flare to your ensemble.

Protect – Don’t forget to include some SPF! Protecting your skin from the sun is an important part of safeguarding your skin health.

#3 Get Plenty of Rest
Sleep is hard to come by when you’re a busy mom. Early mornings and late nights burn the candle from both ends. But sleep is a key component of wellness. Avoid getting too involved in tasks right before bed, and take time to reconnect and wind down. Try a warm shower or bath before bed to relax your body.

If you can’t stop running through your to-do list in bed, try a CBD tincture for sleep. CBD promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety, helping quiet your mind. Dim the lights, and consider using lamps or candles to create a peaceful ambiance.

#4 Declutter Your Space
Personal wellness can often boil down to tiny, significant details. For instance, a clean and tidy home helps promote relaxation, focus, and a calmer resolve.

Here are a few quick tips you can use to keep your house tidy and germ-free:

Invest in air filters to remove allergens and dust from the air.
Wipe down counters and surfaces with a household cleaner before bed.
Create a weekly laundry schedule to stay on top of washing.
Use simple, nontoxic products as much as possible like white vinegar and baking soda.
Let in plenty of natural light.

#5 Invest in Your Mental Health
Last but certainly not least, it’s important to invest in your mental health. If you find yourself struggling to cope with everyday stressors, consider reaching out to a mental health professional for assistance. Sometimes, talking with someone outside of the situation is an immensely helpful way to gain perspective and insight.

Don’t Forget to Breathe
Being a mother is stressful. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it—your responsibilities are seemingly endless, there are certainly not enough hours in the day, and it just doesn’t make sense how much energy a tiny human can have.

And even though your routine can seem all-encompassing, your health remains—and should always remain—one of your top priorities. By adopting these tips, you can help improve your health while navigating the beautiful pastures of motherhood. At the end of the day… a healthy mom is a happy one.
