Spread the love
      Yum

ThinkFun recently sent me some games and brain teasers to share with my grand kids and we all had a blast trying to figure out how they all worked.  I did not think we were the puzzle loving type of family, but we had a blast with these.

I loved watching my 9 year old and 4 year old work together to try and figure out the brain teaser puzzles.  I firmly believe that a lot of toys don’t take much to use or play with and when you can find something that keeps them thinking and talking it makes the whole experience of play enter new levels.

The first one we all could not figure out was a simple four piece puzzle that came already put together, the object was to take it apart and find the one and only way to put it back together.  The kids and adults all had a try and were stumped for quite a while.  Once we got one part off we were all able to work together to get it apart, of course then it was just as difficult to figure out how to put it back together.  While it took us all about 30-40 minutes to do it was a fun time for all of us.  The kids were excited to show their dad how we all had figured it out.  Although I really think they just enjoyed watching him struggle for a bit.

Thinkfun has many puzzles and brain teasers to choose from and we really enjoyed them all.  The brain teasers were all different levels of ability and most were pretty simple to figure out once we took a bit of time to really look at it from all sides.

The Moon Spinner was one that was especially fun as it looks like a bunch of circles that are intertwined together and getting them apart is  quite the mission.  We shared this and passed it around the table for a good while before we were able to figure it out.  So much fun.  I cannot remember the last time we all took time to work together to do something and this was a fun way to do that.

If you have a family or kid group on your holiday list I highly recommend looking at the puzzles and brain teasers that ThinkFun has to offer.  I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun they were and how interactive they all were.  Of course a child or adult would have a great time working on any of these alone as well.

You can see all of them at their website and while you are there be sure to check out all of the games and activities they have at the ready to finish up your holiday shopping fast!
