My Little Pony and generationOn, need your help. They would like to invite you to be a part of their International Friendship Day global campaign to encourage kids to volunteer in their school, neighborhood, or even in the community and where we help kids become better friends and helpers.
They have so many ideas for us as parents to help our kids understand the important power of friendship, you can see all of the Friendship Day Activities here!
Did you know that each pony in the My Little Pony collection represents elements that help your child understand how to be a good friend?
Fluttershy is kindness
Applejack is honesty
Pinkie Pie is laughter (oh don’t we all love to hear our kids laugh with their friends)
Rainbow Dash is loyalty
Rarity is generosity
Twilight Sparkle represents the magic of friendship
I think that is pretty neat. Not only do kids love the My Little Pony toys but they can learn how to be good friends to other by the pony collection showing them how to be kind, honest, funny, loyal and generous. I know for me it is important for the kids to learn to not only make friends but how to keep and be a good friend.
Research suggests that teaching children empathy, caring and compassion early on is important, and they need the help of the adults around them to blossom into caring people. What better way to show them these things then by volunteering. These things help your child as the grow up into caring adults.
Kids who volunteer respect others, develop leadership skills and understand what citizenship is, and those are such important things to have as an adult.
July 30th is International Friendship day, what kinds of things can you do with your child to show them what it means to be a good friend and a caring person? There are quite a few ideas on the My Little Pony website and you can even find ways to have special parties for your child with all of their friends.
Four international events, taking place in Singapore (July 25), New York City (July 30), São Paulo (August 5), and London (August 7), will engage hundreds of children in volunteer activities inspired by each of the six main MY LITTLE PONY characters. You can visit MyLittlePony.Hasbro.com/FriendshipDay for service project ideas that strengthen friendship and help others.
I hope that you will find some time to do this with your child and to take lots of pictures to post! You can win a special Friendship Day prize pack right here!
