For my stop on the My Favorite Things sewing tour I of course chose something very purple!! It is my favorite color in all things, except maybe food.
I was so fortunate that Simply by Ti had this beautiful stretch cotton poplin in a grand purple color, she kindly sent me the yardage I needed to make this dress! She has some of the dreamist fabric at her shop and the prices are terrific.
So many favorites for this dress is that it has no zipper or buttons, it has roomy pockets and a half waist elastic that makes it very comfortable.
The fit of the bodice was perfect for my size and and I did one size larger for the skirt to accomadate my hips. The Angie Dress pattern is a dream to sew and a dream to wear. I do suggest making your own bias tape if you make this dress as the packaged kind in store can be a little stiff.
If you have not made your own continuous bias tape before, check out this tutorial it is the one I used to make mine.
