Great chocolate is worth its weight in gold. It is just one of the things in my life that makes it worth living.
I know some people are allergic and I know some do not care for it, and I am ok with that, but for me and my palate there is nothing better than dreamy chocolate.
Salazon Chocolates was so kind and sent me one of each of the bars they make for me to try! Salazon is Spanish for salted, hence the name of their special chocolates, all made with sea salt.
The background of this company is that the founders went backpacking and wanted to pack some great snacks. They included some salty snacks, and some energy bars and of course the super food of super foods, organic dark chocolate bars. While out they realized they needed something that combined organic dark chocolate with a salty taste. Therefore, Salazon was born and they started to gather the best of the best ingredients to make their sea salt organic dark chocolate bars.
The chocolates are made from 100 percent organic, single origin, Rainforest Alliance certified beans. Small batch roasted in Maryland, USA, once unmolded the chocolate is sprinkled by hand with sun evaporated sea salt. The result is beyond delicious. Salazon’s bars are not bitter, and they are so smooth and creamy it almost makes you forget about every grainy dark chocolate you have ever tasted. These bars are all:
Kosher Vegan (except for the caramel)
Non-GMO
Gluten Free
Organic Fair Trade certified
They come in five different flavors, the original chocolate and natural sea salt, chocolate with a touch of caramel and sea salt, chocolate with sea salt and crushed organic coffee, a chocolate bar with sea salt and a little organic turbinado cane sugar, and the chocolate bar that raised eyebrows, sea salt and pepper. I liked all of them of course, but I am always a caramel lover so that is a favorite for me. What will be your favorite?
As a company, they also donate 1 percent of their revenues to environmental programs, and it always impresses me when a company does this.
I highly recommend these chocolate bars; I think that they should be in all purses, backpacks, diaper bags, and even desk drawers. They are that good!
Check out their website here, and be sure to enter the giveaway they are sponsoring here on our blog. One lucky person will win 10 bars of this awesome chocolate, 2 of each flavor, enter and send your friends!
