Making my own baby food is important to me. When babies start eating foods, I want to know exactly what is inside, without question it needs to be fruits, vegetables or cereal and that’s it. I don’t want additives, flavoring, colors anything. However, I love the new pouch revolution of baby food, it is so much easier than using a jar. Which left me in a dilemma, homemade baby food, or a pouch, and now thanks to Infantino Squeeze Station I don’t have to choose. I can make my own food, and put it into pouches, store in my freezer and always have fresh homemade food for the baby.
You can make any food that you want, put it into the pouches and you are done! No worries about ice cube trays, freezer storage issues, it is all right there in its own little pouch. We started with sweet potatoes, these are so easy to make for baby. We also made some sweet potato, apple, cinnamon for some toddler snacks at the same time. Destini loves to have pouch foods, but frankly they are expensive and they are not always free of bad stuff.
We steamed the sweet potatoes then pureed some for David when he is 6 months very fine, and got ready to push into the pouches. We then added apple and a touch of cinnamon to the rest and readied those for our toddler snacks.
They send us the whole kit, which included the following:
Fridge & Freezer Sleeve
Couple a Spoons
Keeper Squeeze Pouch
50-Pack Squeeze Pouches™
Squeeze Station
With all of this it was so easy to make our own pouches and I don’t think I would ever have a need to buy the ready made ones again. You can find great recipes on their website that gives you all kinds of ideas for combinations too. I know we are going to love putting our foods in the pouches so that David gets the flavor of what we are eating.
I cannot wait to make homemade grains and cereals to add to his foods and know that he is getting all of the whole food nutrition that he needs.
I love The Squeeze Station, if you have a new mom, or toddler mom on your list they would probably love getting this as a gift for the holidays. The whole set up is about $50.00 and you can make a lot of baby food for that. Here are a few more recipes for you!
