If this was you, do you know how to get out safely? If you had your seat belt on and your children were in car seats how do you get them out, how do you get out? The buckles don’t work, the water is rushing and you are in a slight panic, what do you do? They don’t teach this is driver’s ed, nor will you find the questions on the written exam to get your license.
I am a lucky blogger, I received a tool called Resqme, by a company of the same name to review, and I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is I have not had the chance to use this tool yet, the bad news is that I did not use it myself prior to doing my review, which honestly I am pretty excited about.
The Resqme® tool is a $10.00 tool that can save your life, it is basically the keychain of life. In case of an emergency, this is the only tool you need, it is a seat belt cutter and a window cutter. The steel blade that cuts seat belts, and car seat straps is concealed by a black clip attached to the key ring. To reveal the blade, pull the Resqme® tool untill it releases from the clip, when you get your Resqme®, you need to watch the video and familiarize yourself with how to do this so that when something happens you will do it automatically.
The window breaker is a spring-loaded spike. Push the tool into the corner of a side window till the glass shatters. It takes 12 pounds of force to release the spike. This tool WILL NOT break your windshield, please do not waste precious time trying.
The next thing that I want to tell you about is how to rescue yourself and your kids in a flooded and sinking car, do you know what to do? Three kids, and you alone as the driver, what do you do first? Who gets out first? How do you get the kids out? This is exactly what you do, you activate the blade on your Resqme® and cut your seat belt, if your window will not work you use the Resqme® to break it, you then do the same to the back window and you get your kids out, oldest to youngest to safety. So, first you then your oldest child, then your youngest, remember you can use the resqme on the car seat straps as well. Knowing these steps can save your life, knowing what to do matters when there is an emergency.
I love this product, and I love what this company stands for they made this tool so that it can get into as many hands as possible so people can be safe. They have a few other products that are also life saving. They sent me a defendme® that is a personal alarm that you wear and if anyone gets near you, you activate this and it is the strongest loudest noise alarm I have heard. It would scare away most attackers and definitely get attention to you! They have a device called alertme® that is an over the ear piece that wakes you should your head nod downward, this is brilliant! There also is the protectme® a small pepper spray that fits in your hand. To round out all of these out they have prepare me kits that contain a first aid kit, a hand powered flashlight and a resqme tool. So many products and so many uses.
2 years ago my son was in a very serious car accident and he rolled his car 6 times, my son is strong and young and he was lucky that when he gained consciousness he was able to still operate the buckle around him. He then had to get out of his car and both doors were crushed he ended up kicking one of the windows out, but it took him a long time and by that time, if he had been in water he would not have gotten out in time.
These tools are going into all of the stockings this year of anyone old enough to drive, even if they don’t as a passenger you need to be prepared as well. I feel there is no better way to do that then with the Resqme® tool!
