I was introduced to this great new book my Moms Meet and I was excited to read all about it.  Trim Healthy Mama is written by sisters Pearl Barrett, Serene Allison, both being tired of calorie counting and cutting out certain food groups they knew there had to be a better way to lose weight and be healthy.

They have come up with a simplified plan that will show you how to lose weight and get healthy by getting rid of the sugar in their diets but still being able to eat and cook great delicious food.  This was something that I really am always interested in.  Being diabetic and having a son who is diabetic a plan that comes with cutting sugar is always a good option for us.

I found that they are relying are carbs and proteins and non processed foods throughout the book.  They include all of the fats, grains, proteins and of course fruits and vegetables, and cook and eat them in recipes that are good for your family not just the mama.  So many diet plans concentrate on one person in the family instead of a family as a whole.

They say you can use this plan when you are pregnant and nursing and from looking at most of the recipes you probably can safely use them, however I always advise that you check with your doctor when you are nursing or pregnant if you are trying to drastically change the way you eat.

The Trim Healthy Mama plan does give some sound well researched recipes and they have a solid approach of eating non processed whole foods, and they give lots of ideas and straight talk about how to keep eating healthy even when it is busy in your household.

Anyone who is looking for a great no fad way to lose weight will love this book, they give you a great start and several ideas how to make it happen.
