There are certain “National Days” that I try not to miss, Coffee, Pie, Donuts, Grandparents, and I have to say that National Cookie Day which is Dec. 4th and National Brownie Day which is Dec. 8, are ones that I NEVER miss there is always a good reason to eat cookies and brownies. Sugar Bowl Bakery has everything you need to celebrate these great days!
See what I mean? These amazing Madelines cookies by Sugar Bowl are amazing and I think that no matter what you cannot go wrong if you get them to celebrate with. I love the packaging on these as they are individually wrapped to make sure they stay fresh and they are so easy to pack in a lunch box or even to throw in your purse.
Madeleines are little cake like cookies that are baked in special molds that give them a delicate shell shape. According to one story the name “Madeleine” was given to the cookies by Louis XV to honor his father in-law’s cook Madeleine Paulmier. Louis first tasted them at the Chateau Commercy in Lorraine in 1755. Louis’ wife, Marie introduced them to the court and they soon became all the rage at Versailles. Whatever the origins, they have become inextricably linked with the author Marcel Proust, who described them as “…little shell of cake, so generously sensual beneath the piety of its stern pleating.”
I do have to say though the best way I have found to eat these cookies is to serve them with ice cream toppings as dip! We love to dip them in chocolate and caramel and strawberry topping, is my husbands favorite. They are just the perfect little cookie to do that with, they are soft and delicately flavored so they lend well to any flavor you put with them. If you happen to be craving something sweet but not too sweet these are amazing! You can check out where you can buy them here!
So, let’s talk about brownies for a minute, I love brownies, when I say that I don’t mean like you normally love something, I mean I like them like wine! All flavors, all varieties and all shapes and sizes, but I must tell you, my go to brownie is always the Sugar Bowl Bakery Brownie Bites.
One of the best parts of a brownie is the little crispy parts around the edge of the pan, well at least that is one of the best parts to me, and these little bites have that on every single brownie. I often buy these at the holidays and make up a platter of them decorated with frosting and sprinkles. My neighbors love these little gifts of love and I always get compliments on them.
National Brownie day is going to be big around here, we are going to make brownie sundaes with our Petite Brownie Bites, we always use different toppings and a variety of ice cream flavors to make this even more fun. The brownies also come in individually wrapped packages and this ensures that they are always fresh and easy to have around for guests that drop in.
The brownie was invented in the USA and it is said to actually be classified as a cookie instead of a cake, simply because you eat it with your hands instead of a fork like cake. Personally I think that they should have a classification all to themselves, they are important enough for that!
Sugar Bowl Bakery always starts with the finest ingredients to make their cookies and brownies and they are committed to a high quality product. They have been around for 27 years and have been consistently growing that whole time. They actually started out as a coffee shop and all of their customers loved the pastries so much, they went to making them full-time, and perfecting the pastries. When its time to celebrate National Cookie and Brownie day, you need to look no further than Sugar Bowl!
