I love to buy things as gifts that keeps kids busy! I don’t mean the kind of busy where they are asking someone to constantly play with them, I want individual play!
I was so fortunate this year to find a fabulous gift that is like this, it is called ShapeMags and it is a step above any kind of building set I have seen in the past.
The magic, of course, is in the magnet, and they stick together with them in such a way that the blocks don’t fall apart and allow kids to build on their own with less frustration!
Julie and Jonathan taught children for over a decade. They’ve seen how educational toys helped their students develop cognitive skills and made them smarter. ShapeMags was inspired when Julie, met a Japanese math teacher who created homemade magnetic tiles to build STEM skills.
It is so amazing to me that kids are always learning, we think that they are just playing but, if you really watch them they are learning and I see when they build with these ShapeMags they are learning in ways they never imagined.
Not only are they learning, they are having a great time doing it. These colorful translucent blocks just attract kids to move and play and put them all together in different ways. I have seen kids play with different blocks but, usually, they bore quickly and have a sense of frustration getting things built. ShapeMags just stops all of that in its tracks.
When you give a gift this season give the things that are going to keep giving, not only to the kids but to the parents. Toys that are played with long after the tree is put away and the holidays are a memory are the ones you want to get them.
You can check out ShapeMags at the website, and they are available for purchase at retailers nationwide, including Amazon.
Follow along on their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram and see what everyone is building!
