My daughter in law loves St. Patricks Day, maybe it has something to do with her being a bartender in the past but, she thinks it is the best holiday.
When we started looking for outfits to put the girls in we found it very easy to find for the baby but anything over a size 6 was difficult. We had found her a t shirt but, we needed a skirt to go with it for the photos.
I of course. had the solution with making one! I found the Lindsay’s Sweet Twirly Skirt by Creat Kid’s Couture to make for her and some awesome shamrock and glitter fabric.
This skirt is cool because you can use all one fabric or you can use all different fabrics, you basically cut the fabric into the sizes you need and then it guides you through putting it together.
Very simple, and yet you could also make it very detailed if you choose. I love that it is big enough to twirl and yet light enough for summer.
The most difficult part I found was the gathering for the ruffle layer. As you can see below I had to almost stand it up to keep it straight prior to sewing it.
Simple pattern, very straight forward, it has the twirl factor for sure, so if that is important to your little girl this is a great pattern for that. I found the instructions complete and straight forward, and the facebook group they have for their patterns are always willing to help if you get stuck. Give it a try! I would love to see anything you have sewn, leave me a comment below and let me see.
