So many kids are getting ready to start the adventure of their lives, I call them kids, but I guess they really are adults now, it their first year of college and its time for them to pack up and move on to the dorms and college lifestyle!
So, what first? The good news is Staples has everything you need to get ready to go. The first thing is to go through the room and get rid of stuff you just don’t need, you can find these great smooth move boxes. Set a few up and get to work, make some for donations, some for storage and sort things out. When that is done, you can pack up the things you need to take with you easily. The best part of these boxes is you don’t need tape, the lids just pop on top, so if you forgot something you can easily add it.
Make sure you pack one box with all of the essential for a first night. I call this the unpack first box. Staples has labels and Sharpies and you will need lots of them! Label this box on all four sides Unpack first. Put your alarm clock, small coffee maker, sheets, personal hygiene supplies, and anything else you will need to get up and moving the first days. You can unpack the rest after the first night.
So, you are sorted, you have your first night box ready and what do you do with all of those clothes? You have to pack them, but do you really want to fold and wrinkle everything? No, and you don’t have to you can even get awesome wardrobe boxes at Staples and just hang it all up, then when you get there its an easy transition.
Do not forget to pack some goodies from home, pictures, maybe a stuffed animal or two and prepare for your journey, it’s just the beginning, but what a journey you are embarking on!
