I remember seeing those  commercials on TV where the older woman was laid out and the background is “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”.  At the time I thought that is the silliest thing ever just get up.  Then I got a little older and I thought well that is kind of neat but what about if she is out  in public like at the store or something what would she do.  Now, that I have diabetes and often have both kids alone, I have thought about getting one of those  Alert things, in case I am alone and my blood sugar goes low.

Then I was introduced to the V.ALRT and now I don’t have to worry anymore.  I don’t need the paramedics called or even a dispatcher, but if I were to feel very weak and need my blood sugar up and not have the energy to text or call someone this can do it for me, all I have to do is press the button.

If my daughter decides to go on a walk at night or on a blind date she can wear the V.ALRT and if the date is a creep or making her uncomfortable all she has to do is push the button and it sends a text to three people.  If she is walking and someone is following her, she can push that button and we would get a text letting us know she needs us.

This is the next best thing.  You can wear this anywhere and you can push the button very discreetly, if you were with someone threatening you , they would never know that you alerted somebody that you need help.

The V.ALRT is an ergonomically designed device that can be carried discreetly in a pocket or a bag, worn on the wrist with the included band or around the neck as a pendant. Using Bluetooth® SMART (Bluetooth 4.0 LE) technology in association with a software application from VSN Mobil, the V.ALRT initiates calls and text messages from a smart phone. With the push of a button, the V.ALRT pings the smart phone to send personalized texts to three pre-selected contacts!

The customizable message will indicate that help is needed and also provide location information using the GPS feature on the smartphone (when available). The V.ALRT application can also be set to initiate a follow up phone call from the smartphone to get the attention of the recipient

Best of all V.ALRT does not require a monthly fee!  That is really the best part!

With Life Alert you do have to pay a monthly fee to stay connected this is not like that you pay for the device and then you are ready to go.  There are so many things that this can be used for.  Kids out riding their bikes, internet dating, jogging or walking, walking your dog, being home alone, and of course medical conditions.  One thing I thought about was kids being able to wear this while at an amusement park at the age where they are old enough to go off on their own, but still need a little bit of a tie, this would be awesome!

V.ALRT is graciously sponsoring a giveaway for one device for one of our readers, and I am so excited about that.  This would make a fabulous gift for loved ones, and the price is right.  Check out their website here and pick one or two up today.
